ABOUT HATCH: 

HATCH is a multidisciplinary Architecture and Design firm based out of Los Angeles and Miami. Our work is focused on exploring sustainable design as a means to create highly-impactful solutions to unique projects. The typologies of our active projects include: art studios & galleries, co-working facilities, landscape & site designs, wellness & hospitality resorts, custom private residences, and a variety of commercial projects. We have formulated an open-platform approach to business development which has been designed to give us the ability to work solely on eccentric, one-off projects. This will continue to be a key tenet of HATCH. 

Our team is made up of a group of young, hard-working, insightful, poised and creative professionals. They are responsible for driving the overall delivery and management of projects of significant variety and sizes. Our design process is forward-thinking as we see all ideas as opportunities, and utilize this philosophy as a means to design as a collective whole, where each HATCH team member joins in the design process for all active projects in the office. 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

We are seeking a highly talented and highly motivated Project Architect to join our rapidly expanding company. This position is a leadership opportunity: we want someone who is excited to be part of the company's growth and to create a strong, unique position for themselves, who will relish the challenges that come with being a leader. This role requires the candidate to manage on a higher level of responsibility early on, including throughout the design process and client engagement. Being that HATCH is still a relatively young company, this position will give the applicant a chance to tailor the role to their own desires and strengths, aimed to maximize their potential. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Serve as a leader in the office, by managing team members, outlining project timelines and collaboration with the senior level expansion of the company.

  • Engagement with clients, consultants, and vendors in a highly professional manner.

  • Coordination of the entire development and delivery processes from beginning to end. 

  • Developing full drawing sets, computer models, and construction details with the support of a Principal Architect.

  • Design studies and collaboration with the entire HATCH team on all phases of design. 

  • Products and specifications research. 

  • Navigating permitting and codes.

  • Construction site visits for design and construction reviews.

  • Desire to grow into a project management position and drive to help grow the company.

  • Provide informal mentorship, and guidance to junior staff.

  • Working in-person with our team at our office located in Venice Beach, CA.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Professional Degree (B. Arch or M. Arch).

  • 6+ years of professional experience.

  • Architectural licensure in the U.S.A. is desired, but may not be required depending on experience and skills. 

  • Excellent graphic and communication skills, well-spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.

  • High degree of experience and competency in SD, DD, CD drawings and processes, particularly in working details and coordination of complex projects.

  • Proficiency in Revit - Please do not apply to this job if you do not have significant professional experience in Revit.

  • High level of Computer Literacy, with proficiency in Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite programs, as well as complementary rendering software skills (3DS Max, V-Ray, Twinmotion, etc.) is a plus.

  • Robust understanding of construction details and methods.

  • Extensive experience in coordinating project consultants. 

  • Experience with and deep understanding of sustainable design principles is a plus.

  • Ability to manage the Construction Administration phase with minimal supervision is a plus. 

  • Personal Time and Task Management Skills.

  • Ongoing desire to learn the process of permitting and code analysis.

  • Is authorized to work in the U.S.A., currently lives in the U.S.A.
