About the Role:

As a BIM Specialist at Assembly, you will develop and integrate the scalable digital workflows required to design and assemble modular prefab buildings. This role is crucial to our ongoing efforts to advance our digital platforms and the interoperability between them. You will work closely with our designers to construct and maintain detailed Revit models for use throughout each product’s lifecycle, from design to fabrication and assembly.

You Will:

- Model new content of modular components in Revit to allow stakeholders to extract information with confidence. This includes:

  • Completing our internal training to become familiar with existing digital model structure, standards, workflows, and project scope
  • Getting familiar with Assembly’s cross platform coordination and interoperability workflow
  • Developing and managing Assembly’s BIM standards
  • Being able to meaningfully contribute to the design and detailing of building products natively in Revit
  • Supporting the Systems Design team with authoring and coordinating the Revit Model
  • Authoring low and high LOD Revit families of our products
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize or automate workflows
  • Using and developing interoperability workflows
  • Developing automation for common BIM tasks
  • Identifying and implementing the optimization strategies

- Work closely with internal team members including System Designers, Supply Chain and external suppliers to communicate issues and identify opportunities for system improvement. This includes:

  • Meeting with project teams you’ll be working with closely to understand the status of each System and the existing workflow.
  • Identifying areas for workflow improvement and produce documentation outlining strategies for implementation
  • Implementing the above strategies


You Are:

  • A 3D Modeling specialist with a passion for Revit Development & BIM workflows
  •  Excited about leveraging technology to achieve more with less
  • Excited and able to learn new software programs, and to use detailed parametric modeling to optimize design workflows
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous in your work. You understand that high-fidelity modeling is key to seamless communication of ideas and plans
  • A tactful, effective communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment

You Have:

  • Experience in Architecture/Engineering/Manufacturing/Construction Management
  • Experience with Revit and its interoperability workflows
  • Proficiency in CATIA, SolidWorks, Rhinoceros + Grasshopper, or other parametric modeling software is a plus. Candidates with demonstrated ability to learn new software quickly are also encouraged to apply
  • Basic familiarity with scripting, code, and automation
  • Experience creating Revit standards and managing model content
