Internationally renowned Architecture & Interior Design firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates is seeking a well-rounded, creative and self-motivated Junior Interior Designer for a full-time position with 1-2 years of residential/ hospitality design experience to contribute to the success of the firm by assisting with all aspects of design. You are the ideal candidate if you are organized, self-initiative, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple tasks and deadlines with an approachable and flexible style and are attentive to detail and accuracy.
Responsibilities
Provide design support for the creation/ execution of design concepts with direction from partners and senior staff.
Contribute to the development of space planning concepts and generate program documents.
Contribute to the overall look and feel of project interiors.
Create project material/ finish palettes for presentations. Research, source and order materials/ finishes. input data into finish schedules; furniture & floor pattern plans and diagrams as necessary.
Source FF&E and produce specifications & purchase orders.
Follow and stay on schedule with assigned tasks and responsibilities
Obtain & review pricing, materials and customization for projects
Maintain and manage the firm’s materials library. Research new materials and meet with vendors as needed to ensure the most up-to-date materials.
Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
Qualifications
1-2 years of full-time experience in a design firm
Bachelor's degree in interior design or a related field
Knowledge of construction documents and procedures
Knowledge of materials/ finishes and FF&E products, trade sources and specifications
Proficient with obtaining pricing, ordering material/ finishes/ samples.
Good communication, problem-solving and graphic representation skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD/ Vectorworks, Photoshop, Sketch-up and the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is required. Proficiency in Vectorworks, Revit, Spexx, 3D Studio Max is a plus.
