Position Responsibilities        

  • Materials library curator, including archive and maintenance, with strong organizational  skills.

  • Collaborative and professional work ethic; leads by example by motivating project teams in an inclusive and positive approach.

  • Has extensive knowledge of manufacturers and materials and can educate designers when they are making selections for projects.

  • Assists in development of local office standards, policies, and procedures regarding project materials development, specifying and archiving.

  • Has strong relationships with vendors, and is responsible for scheduling weekly meetings with vendors to share their products with the Interiors Team

  • Participate in firmwide discussions on information sharing of project finishes and materials library organization.

  • Seeks creative and innovative solutions to complex problems and develops appropriate research and documentation to support these solutions.

  • Has the ability to evaluate products in terms of carbon footprint and sustainability.

  • Engages with the SOM’s specification writers to further develop firmwide knowledge to achieve SOM’s stated decarbonization goals under the rubric of AIA 2030 Commitment targets


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of experience or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • General understanding of sustainable strategies and principles including familiarity with LEED or other green building rating systems.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and Adobe Suite.
