Role Description:

The Job Captain is a confident problem solver with a creative approach to assigned tasks and projects. As an excellent communicator and self-starter, the Job Captain is committed to developing a deep understanding of design and ensuring the production of top-quality documentation from start to finish. Proficiency in Revit is a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities + Core Competencies:

Lead Project Coordination: Oversee and coordinate each phase of the project, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.

Collaborate with Team: Work closely with the Project Architect and Project Manager in design and detailing to enhance project outcomes.

Consultant Communication: Regularly coordinate with consultants, managing communication throughout the project lifecycle to ensure all parties are aligned.

Mentorship: Support and mentor junior staff, fostering their professional development and skills growth.

Presentation: Develop decks to help present design solutions to senior staff during internal reviews and to clients or consultants.

Qualifications + Required Skills:

Experience: 2-5 years of applicable experience within the architecture profession, hospitality experience preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited institution.

Licensure: Actively pursuing architectural licensure, if not already licensed.

Graphics Skills: Proficient in composing presentations and renderings.

Interpersonal Skills: Communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, consultants, and clients.

Technical Proficiency: Technological skills with a requirement of REVIT proficiency. Familiarity with Adobe, Bluebeam, and Microsoft office also required.

Design Skills: Strong design and documentation capabilities.

Technical Skills: Introductory experience in coordination construction drawing sets and knowledge of commercial construction detailing, materials, and codes.

  • ­Proficiency in Revit is preferred. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office is also required.

Organizational Skills:

  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects across various phases.
  • ­Proven organizational abilities in maintaining documentation and timelines.

Communication:

  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and positive attitude.
  • ­Flexibility and willingness to take on various tasks.
  • ­Refined verbal and written communication skills, comfortable interacting with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal team members.

Preferred Attributes:

  • A keen interest in professional development and studio growth.
  • Enthusiasm for continuing education in design, materials, and industry standards.
