Project Architect

AUX Architecture seeks a Project Architect with 10+ years of experience. 

Founded in 2008, AUX creates spaces that feel good. The Downtown Los Angeles-based practice brings craft and clarity to designs at every scale—from hearth to urban realm. Functionality, sustainability, and beautiful materials are hallmarks of the practice’s skillful architecture. The successful candidate will be passionate about design excellence and have great communication and collaboration skills. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a high degree of self-motivation, flexibility, and resourcefulness.   

 Roles & Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• A leadership role in developing design, preparing a drawing set, design team coordination, and producing deliverables throughout the design process.
• Ability to manage all phases of a project from concept design to construction
• Assisting and/or leading project management efforts on projects.
• Guiding and mentoring junior team members.
• Assisting in the construction process: answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, solving construction-related issues and field problems.
• Consultant coordination, including drawings review and design integration.
• And, must love dogs (in the studio)

Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ Years Architectural Experience
• An accredited Masters or Bachelor of Architecture degree
• Excellent graphic and architectural design skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills including multi-tasking and time management.
• Ability to work effectively with others, including co-workers, executives, and external clients and partners.
• Experience with the following software:
  • Revit
  • Rhino
  • Bluebeam
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Google (Gmail, Drive, etc.)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Workplace Limitations Due to COVID

AUX is working partially remote due to COVID-19. Scheduled in-person days occur once per week at this time, plus in person on an as-needed basis to coordinate deliveries. Full-time in-person work will be required in the coming months. Masks are required.
