Impact Housing ( is a Southern California, mission-driven housing production company that designs, builds, and manages unsubsidized affordable housing. Our core belief is that the design and development of typical market-rate and affordable multi-family housing projects costs too much. We are using off-site construction and modular design to address today’s housing crisis with an innovative design and development model. iDnA is recruiting to fill a Senior Architect/Job Captain position.

Senior Architects/Job Captains have the experience to design multifamily projects and develop constructible design documents. They create and present work products to colleagues in both visual and written formats. Under the supervision of firm leadership, they also lead, collaborate with, and mentor less experienced team members. Together they execute the onsite and offsite architectural components of multi-family and mixed-use modular projects.

Implement the planning, design, production, and construction of multi-family modular residential projects

Ensure that projects are well designed, detailed, code compliant, coordinated, and administered within agreed upon schedules

Coordinate work during the entire design and project process

Execute quality control through scheduling of critical paths and tasks, review of work product in relationship to task identification, and reporting

Facilitate the work of consultants, vendors, and other project partners

Mentor team members on one or more projects

Years of Experience: 6 to 10 years of relevant, particularly multi-family residential, architecture experience utilizing Revit BIM 360 or equal as well as other software utilized for architectural design and the implementation of projects.

Education: first professional degree required]

Certification(s): working towards licensure or licensed architect

Key Skills
Design, visualization, and technical competence as evidenced by quality of individual and team work on previous projects

Knowledge of building and planning codes, code research, and use of codes

Experience implementing the construction phase of architectural services

Capacity to multi-task on all aspects of one or more projects

Self-organizer of work, tasks, and schedule

Communicator of design concepts and details, work and task status, and milestones in both written and visual formats to team members and leadership

Collaborator with more and less experienced team members
