An internationally recognized and award-winning design firm is looking to hire a Senior Design Architect to join their NYC office.  This individual will be leading the design of multiple high-profile projects locally, and all over the world.  These projects include airports, super-tall towers, mixed-use developments, cultural, civic, residential and higher education buildings among others.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead in resolving design and programming issues for multiple large-scale projects around the globe.
  • Coordinate tasks across several projects and sectors concurrently.
  • Analyze design challenge, identify solutions, and develop design recommendations to execute and meet goals.
  • Efficiently communicate ideas visually through drawings, sketches and renderings.
  • Support project team leaders and produce presentations for team and clients.
  • Lead and direct the work of the architectural team.
  • Liaise with technical team members.
  • Manage junior staff.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • 10 years of relevant professional experience with an impressive portfolio to show for it.
  • Strong individual design and problem solving skills.
  • Proven experience working on large-scale and complex projects.
  • Great communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCad, Rhinoceros, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign – is required.
  • Grasshopper experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of architectural drawings, conventions, and phases .
  • Creative and critical thinking, equally collaborative and independent, and self-initiated.
  • Ability to look at the big picture all the while hyper focused on details.
  • Present concepts in a clear, concise manner and effectively verbalize the thought behind the visual elements in concept.
  • Comfortable in high pressure environment.
  • Architectural licensed preferred but not a must.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
