Hernandez-Eli Architecture (HE) is an award-winning, New York City-based architecture firm with a diverse portfolio of work spanning research and experimental projects to the design of bespoke hardware, residential (multi-unit as well as prefab), commercial, hospitality, institutional and public facilities.  

HE is rapidly growing and is seeking a full-time Project Leader for a number of residential projects in New York and throughout the United States. The Project Leader shall oversee all aspects of the project, from design through construction. The right candidate has strong technical knowledge and design sensibility. The ideal candidate is based in New York. The position works directly with the founding principal. 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Degree in Architecture, preferably Masters Degree 

  • 5-7 years of experience in all phases of Architectural design and construction.

  • Strong grasp of architectural technical detailing, construction, and fabrication techniques.

  • Experience managing a design team. 

  • Experience coordinating multiple trades (structural, MEP, lighting consultants, etc)

  • Experience interfacing with contractors in the Construction Administration process, including submittal and shop drawing review

  • Knowledge of NYC Building Codes, and the NYC approvals process

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, Rendering, Adobe Creative Suite

HE was founded in 2011 and is led by founding principal Juliet Hernandez-Eli. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Princeton University and a Master in Architecture from Harvard University. Hernandez-Eli has taught at Harvard University, Pratt Institute, and Boston Architectural College; she was recently named a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at UC Berkeley. Her work has been published in the Wall Street Journal, Boston Architecture Magazine as well as books by Princeton Architecture Press and Actar Publishing.
