Job Description: CO Architects is looking for a Project Architect to join our interdisciplinary and collaborative project teams.   We are a practice dedicated to making buildings that enrich people’s lives – places of lasting significance that appeal as fully to the spirit as to the intellect. We are engaged in a collaborative process of discovery and immersed in the craft and technology of building. Our practice is founded on a culture of integrity and mutual respect, and committed to continuous learning in support of professional and personal growth. We are a nationally recognized specialist in architectural programming, planning and design for the science & technology, higher education, healthcare, K-12 and civic sectors.

Candidate should exhibit the following skills and traits:

  • Proficiency with technical detailing and documentation
  • Strong design and graphic sensibility
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize  
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Creative problem solving
  • Strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills
  • Experience and knowledge in the following:
    • Building codes and agency requirements ideally including OSHPD
    • Building Engineering Systems and coordination with consultants
    • Working with contractors/trades in collaborative delivery
    • Design and Documentation (drawings and specifications) of institutional projects (Ideally healthcare)

Job Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience within the design and construction industry
  • Prior healthcare experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Architecture required
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM production required
  • Professional license within the State of California strongly preferred
  • LEED certification preferred

Salary Range:  Commensurate with experience
