The Senior Marketing Specialist manages marketing submittals of all sizes and complexities, develops submittal content, helps improve marketing resources and processes, and contributes to the development of new business strategies for SOM’s West Coast practice. Based at the SOM San Francisco office you will work in close collaboration with the firm’s leadership and a variety of other internal clients as part of a high-performing marketing team.

Your responsibilities will include supporting leadership in developing client relationships and strategic partnerships, maintaining a customer relationship database, tracking pursuits, and producing marketing collateral, responses to requests for qualifications and proposals, and client interview materials. You will be a passionate and resourceful professional with a minimum of 4 years of experience in marketing for a professional services firm, a bachelor’s degree, and significant experience in marketing submittal management, writing marketing-related content, and the development of marketing collateral.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership and Marketing team to develop materials that reflect and fulfill strategic marketing goals
  • Outline, schedule, and drive the development of proposals, qualifications packages and related submissions; curate image-driven portfolios of the firm’s work
  • Contribute to market strategy development; provide insight and identify competitive advantages for SOM
  • Contribute to client interview strategy and develop interview slide presentations
  • Conduct market, lead, and potential client research as needed
  • Represent the firm in client and professional organizations, attend functions as appropriate, and nurture new business leads
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of marketing experience in the architecture/engineering/construction industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, writing, journalism, design or other related field of study
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Solid written communication skills (examples will be requested)
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment with multiple deadlines and stakeholders, executing and prioritizing tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Working knowledge of layout, graphic design, and visual story telling
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, working independently and proactively with keen attention to detail and quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive and professional attitude
