ORG Permanent Modernity seeks an Urban Planner / Spatial Analyst to join us in our Brooklyn office.

As an Urban Planner / Spatial Analyst, you will be responsible for design, research and analysis for large scale projects in varying contexts both urban and rural and developed and developing countries. The position may involve traveling to project locations for up to 10-20% of time, dependent on project needs. Current project locations are in US, Belgium, Netherlands, Malawi, D.R.C and Israel.

We seek an applicant who has:

-  A masters level degree in urban planning /design or related field (geography, international development, applied economics, data analytics, civil engineering, etc).

-  3 to 5 years or relevant professional experience.

- Ability to work in the US.

Planning / Design skills - Ability to integrate and resolve overlapping pressures (climate, mobility, environment, housing, etc.) through spatial design techniques such as; zoning and land use policies, architectural and infrastructural design, landscape design and real estate development, and more.

-  Research skills – Experience with literature reviews and report writing – topics of research may include; Links between spatial patterns and economic development plans, Geo-economic theories of development, Financial/Ecological/Social Impact assessment methodologies, Urban/Rural development case studies, long term projections of planning scenarios, etc.

-  Geo-Spatial Analytics and Coding skills - High level of GIS data analytics skills, preferably with grasshopper (or other) scripting proficiency. 

-  Presentation and Graphic skills – Visualization of design and planning concepts through various mediums (maps, diagrams, renders, etc.). Proficiency working with CAD (Rhino, Autocad) and Adobe software (AI, INDD, Photoshop) . Experience with web environments is a plus.
