Design Bar by Kathy Kuo is a high profile published interior design firm currently seeking a creative and senior level interior designer to join our team of design-obsessed individuals. Design Bar ( offers traditional in-person design as well as e-design nationally and internationally.

This individual will work closely with Kathy Kuo and the interior design team on all residential and hospitality projects ranging from local projects to those further out of state. Project locations include Dallas, Santa Barbara, Naples, and range from ski chalets to Southern estate homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in high end residential and commercial design, as well as in the administrative side of interior design.

Applicants should have excellent communication and organizational skills, in addition to sales experience and outstanding people skills. Your role is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to create functional and beautiful spaces for our clients - drawing from our exceptionally curated product line at Kathy Kuo Home.


  • Assist with design projects from conception to completion. This includes programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic -design, design development, and space planning.
  • Travel to job sites in the tri-state area and help with project installs.
  • Manage interior design projects.
  • Assist in purchasing furniture, lighting, home decor, fabric, etc.
  • Assist in the development of floor plans, presentation boards, and renderings.
  • Document FF&E and finish specifications.
  • Work with external consultants and manufacturers.
  • Send out fabric and finish samples to clients.


  • 5+ years of relevant interior design experience.
  • B.A. in Interior Design or related field-Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD and 3D rendering capabilities in 3DS, Revit or equivalent.
  • Ability to manage multiple client projects
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and work flow based on business needs.


Full time contract based with the opportunity to transition to full-time w2 based on performance.
