The BIM Lead is responsible for finished plans, specifications or approval of materials and construction.  Applies sound and diverse knowledge of architectural principle and practices in broad array of assignments and related fields. The BIM Lead will assist in further advancing procedures and guidelines to conform to national and project standards as well as the Firm culture and emerging best practices.

Job Responsibilities:              

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Prepare program and schematic proposal, project layouts and develop design in 2D and 3D using Revit and AutoCAD for client review/approval.
  • Perform design computations, specifications, compiles data & basic architectural assignments. 
  • Assist with preparation of construction drawings and construction detailing for contractors.
  • Review building codes to assure that design complies with the minimum legal standards.
  • Assist in the construction administration reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals.
  • Prepare finish/material sample boards, models & graphic presentations for client approval.
  • Assist on project work – modeling and detailing
  • Assist project teams in BIM project setup and BIM Execution Planning
  • Help address and resolve file exchange, data interoperability and BIM design issues.
  • Create Revit families in response to project need.
  • Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team
  • Provide fundamental & intermediate internal Revit guidance/mentoring when necessary
  • Provide Technical Orientation to new hires and project staff regarding use of BIM tools.
  • Maintain a high level of competency of software through continued use and training.


  • Bachelors or Masters in Architecture or related field is required
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years plus experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years plus experience in leading/coordinating BIM Projects (Revit) is required, including development & support of BIM Content, Templates and Standards.
  • Specific software skills required:  AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS Max [2014], 2D & 3D Rendering, Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud and standard Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Knowledge of or proficiency with Navisworks, SketchUp & Rhino are strongly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of National CAD Standards, emerging BIM standards.
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with Practice and Technology leaders in innovative areas that include Energy/Performance Analysis, Design and Visualization.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment for mentoring all levels of staff strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
