BCV Architects is an award-winning architecture and interior design firm with 20 years of hospitality, lifestyle and culture-design oriented projects including restaurants, wineries, market halls, food retail, retail centers and private residences.  BCV applies timeless, environmentally-sound design to projects in a diversity of scales, from the master planning of large urban projects to the furnishings and light fixtures for hospitality projects. 

We are currently seeking an Interior/Architectural Designer with 5+ years of design experience to join our New York office.

Job duties will include:

  • Collaborate on all phases of lifestyle, hospitality, retail, food and beverage, and high-end residential projects, in both interior and architectural design. Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents
  • Participate in selection of furniture and lighting, and prepare specifications
  • Produce millwork/custom furniture and fixture drawings and details, which meet various and specific program requirements while also representing an overall design concept
  • Provide project team coordination for finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
  • Work with consultants, furniture dealers, product reps, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
  • Act as the primary contact for all manufacturer representatives, including organizing vendor presentations
  • Maintain and organize the office's technical library and design reference and sample libraries

Credentials/Experience Desired:

  • 5+ years of related experience as an Interior Designer or Architectural Designer with focus on interiors
  • Knowledge of the design process, including FF&E, specifications, color and materials
  • Excellent graphic presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, communication and relationship management skills
  • Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • AutoCAD proficiency required
  • Revit experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite required
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling program such as SketchUp required
  • Knowledge of additional 3D modeling or rendering programs preferred

A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture is required at a minimum. This position is full time and offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, and a 401k and profit-sharing plan.
