The project looks to the existing community of Dhangethi Island in the Maldives to create a phased transition from land to sea that addresses sea level rise. The design of a new circulation and energy generating infrastructure builds upon the layout of existing roads and brings zero energy services to the island while extending the community gradually out to sea. This energy life-line extend and create nodes onto which new programmatic public spaces are arranged. These new spaces form an emergent constellation of floating communities for the Maldivians as they adapt from living on land to living on water.
