Cochiti Pueblo House

Revised Version - 2013

Original Version -  2011

Size: 1500 sq. ft.

House in Cochiti Pueblo, NM for a native american woman. The project was a two part process. First came the Bead Studio (she'es a bead maker), then a house to compliment it.

The house revolved around some thermal massing. The south wall is constructed entirely of stone and will aid in the thermal process for the high traffic areas (living room, dining room, and kitchen). Exterior facade material is stucco with CMU structure/insulation. The house was to feel an area of compression and the relief. This was achieved with the ceiling height progression from the bedroom/hallway space to the kitchen/dining room and then the living room, which shared he same height as the bedroom space due to the sunken floor.

Plan, sections, and elevations will clarify once uploaded.
