This thesis project is about interacting with the real world. In particular it questions how haptic experiences can be developed in an urban open space in order to alter users’ perceptions of their environment. The project starts off by exploring and defining what haptic experiences can be, as well as how sensation influences the way in which people perceive space.
The hypothesis of this project is that people will be aware of the physical world they are walking in through the changing temperature they experienced by haptic sense.
It is developed by studying the definition of haptic sense and the factors that influence the way we perceive information by haptic experience, I chose temperature as the main factor because and started to test how to form people’s perception of changing temperature through haptic experiences.
