Excerpt from my undergraduate thesis at SCI-Arc:
The digitization of architecture in the Information Age has led to greater precision of seamless geometries of parametrics, algorithmically replicable systems of design, cookie-cutter developments without character, and various categories of homogenous buildings that can be seen in any modern city across the globe. Contemporary production of architecture is heavily influenced by the digital tools aiming to produce idealistic forms free of mistakes based on design intention. Often there is a slight break in the rhythm of production, a phenomenon commonly known as the glitch- a temporary malfunction or irregularity of equipment.
I am always intrigued about the aesthetic of glitch as well as the accidental nature of the phenomenon.
