Freshkills Park, formerly Fresh Kills estuary prior to becoming Fresh Kills Landfill, is a 2,200 acre landfill reclamation project in western Staten Island. Working for the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, my work cataloged basic site data for the newest section of the project: Freshkills Park East. Survey information was taken from existing data, site surveys, and field research.

By extensively documenting everything from the depth, length, and layout of gas seepage lines to coverage and health of different habitats, the consequences of any and all design decisions can be more effectively illustrated and more persuasively argued.Once compiled, these drawings formed the base maps for the first phase of Freshkills Park East. The complete drawing set included: site map, site survey, surface infrastructure, sub-surface infrastructure, natural resource, hydrological, and topographic maps.
