Tuft & Needle

Tuft & Needle first started their disruption of the mattress industry in 2012, and the company has become known for a mattress store experience unlike any other. Designed to embrace a home environment and feel more residential than commercial, stores are treated more like showrooms. The Kansas City location features semi-private “rooms” for customers to peruse and test inventory. There is no harsh fluorescent lighting, or a sea of mattresses that make customers feel overwhelmed with options. The shopping experience is relaxed and free of pressure from sales staff. No inventory is kept at Tuft & Needle stores, either, and customers can use an iPad in-store or visit the e-commerce site if they decide to purchase.

A collaboration between our Design and Fabrication studios, Tuft & Needle - Kansas City features numerous custom fabrication pieces, including in-wall rolling casework that serves as hidden storage, and rolling screens for customers to use when shopping should they want to lay on a mattress in a more private setting.
