St Timothy's

In the early 1990's, we helped St. Timothy start their parish with the construction of offices, classrooms, and worship space. When they were ready to expand, we were incredibly honored to be called upon again to design a new 28,850 square foot worship space. We worked with their building committee and Diocesan Guidelines to achieve both  stunning design that met their needs. The congregation surrounds the altar which is bathed in natural light. The ceiling descends from behind the congregation to the altar, creating an intimacy for smaller gatherings. The baptismal, the symbolic entrance to the church, creates a dramatic entry to the sanctuary. The wall around the sanctuary is exaggerated in its thickness, marking the separation of the sacred and profane. Outside, the lobby flows to the exterior through floor to ceiling glass and similar treatment of interior and exterior floor surfaces. The large interior/exterior space allows for social interactions before and after celebrations.
