"The Carriage House". 2014-15.

This house sat on the old lot that belonged to tobacco tycoon John Smith Cravens of Kansas City, MO., in 1871.  Craven migrated to the warmer Southern California during the 20's, and built the house known locally as the "Millionaires' Row" on Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena because the wealthy city fathers of previous millennia all resided here.

The "Craven Estates" through the years got subdivide into several properties.  508 Madeline Drive used to be his Carriage House and The Main House is the current property of San Gabriel Valley Chapter of American Red Cross.

Like the old, the architecture is English style.
