Churton Street

A faceted marble counter is the counter-point to the rough brick walls and restored original features of this heritage building in Victoria, central London.

The property had fallen into disrepair, comprising original interiors that created a series of dark, labyrinthine spaces. We transformed this classic Georgian terrace in Pimlico into a modern, light-filled bakery.

Our strategy was to install new structure that allowed the space to be completely opened up. A large rooflight to the rear of the building was refurbished, and a series of openings created in the floor to fill downstairs space with natural light. The previously dark basement is now used as a baking school, and provides additional seating for customers, and facilities for staff.

The reclaimed industrial lighting fittings, hewn timber banquette and bespoke furniture complete the look.
