Gilberto earned his M.Arch from the University of Oregon in 2016 where he also had the opportunity to study under RCR Arquitectes in 2015. As a graduate student, he assisted co-teaching several digital design media courses and was a research assistant in the Urban Interactions Lab at the UO. In addition to architecture, Gilberto's interests primarily are focused on conceptual development, topophilia, digital fabrication, landscape architecture, and computational design.

Generated SD/DD/CD architectural drawing sets, landscape plans and experiential views for coinciding hospitality, mixed-use, and residential projects. Analyzed impact of zoning jurisdictions and applicable codes and coordinated with engineers/consultants in resolving various RFI and plan check items.

Created BIM models from CAD as-builts or field measurements. Complied schematic design drawing sets for various commercial, mixed-use and residential projects. Produced marketing renderings and fabricated physical models for client meetings.

Acted as a teaching assistant for several digital media courses taught by Philip Speranza, a professor at the University of Oregon. My role included leading computer lab sessions covering Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Rhino3D+Grasshopper, and V-Ray. Additionally, I was responsible for preparing lab notes, templates, and tutorials for undergraduate and graduate students.

Utilized combinations of laser-cutting, CNC routing and woodshop machinery/tools to construct conceptual, structural and presentation models. Organized digital files, examined material costs and analyzed alternatives to maximize fabrication efficiency.
