Rail Deck Park Visioning

The proposal for Rail Deck Park raises a question that cuts to the heart of Toronto's current growth: what kind of city do we want to be?

Over the past decade, efforts have been made to re-link the downtown core with the waterfront, and while great strides have been made there remains the rail yards stretching from east to west across the city, with few connections.

Therein is the opportunity, with large-scale developments coming closer and closer to the edges of the rail yard, to bridge the gap and create the large civic space that a high-density core requires.

Rail Deck Park is conceived as a project to address Toronto's density equation, tilting the balance back towards a more livable parks and open space network for the core.
