New York, NY
This Upper East Side apartment re-defines pied-a-terre with its gracious 4,000 square feet of living space, all carefully orchestrated by Frampton Co. Designed for an international family with five children, the space had to be both inviting and familiar as well as sophisticated and tailored. It represents the client’s courage for bold statements and sensibility for daily life. The challenge was to navigate the demands of high style with the nuanced comforts sought by this large traveling family. Custom millwork was designed throughout to house – ranging from graphic, geometric bookshelves to playfully built in bunk-beds. A custom glass and steel door accents the main living space, a design that was developed hand in hand with the crafts people who made it. To finish the space, a wide range of furnishings were brought together – from a custom dining table, thoughtful lighting solutions, warm upholstery and carefully curated art pieces. This home represents the highest ideals of stylized yet approachable living.
