APHIDoIDEA/ Collaborative design-build Installation Reception in DOWNTOWN LONG BEACH at the PHANTOM GALLERY on July 10th. 4000 cups, crankshaft, motion sensor, open wine bar. Come critique!
for iCUP trial video and other projects check out www.APHIDoIDEA.com
Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada has this in a window of their architecture building. I think it's maybe 15 years old now.
It looks very cool, especially with the lighting. Also, you should check out the artist Tara Donovan, she has done similar things with cups and other multiples.
Thanks for the case-studies. :) This installation is activated by the motion sensor on the facade of the storefront. It runs for 60 seconds (per activation) and cycles the crankshaft, which controls the motion of the undulated cup/landscape surface.

I was wondering if they were Class A fire rated?
