I am looking for a firm in the Washington DC area that specializes in 3D modeling and rendering. Can anyone provide any tips? Also, is there a good book on Maxwell render out there?
I think mental-ray is getting just as powerful as vray now, and there is really no point to learning maxwell unless your goal is to become ultra photoreal renderer. Mental-ray is also built-in Revit as the render engine so you can produce nice renders directly from Revit without any plugins.

do you have maxwell's manual? it's pretty good.
No I don't. I have been looking at the tutorials online. Where can I find the manual?
it's around--might take a little googling.
V-RAY IS CURRENTLY PROCESSING YOUR SCENE.

no googling necessary--the manual gets installed with Maxwell. Check your maxwell folder for the PDF
