I am Designing a community space using a grid i derived from the plan of the temple which is situated on the site. i want to know the possibilities which lie ahead for me by referring certain existing projects and what further elements i could bring to the entire concept of the building to make it more interesting.

Yup, Eisenman was a grid master. He's got a good book or two that will help (and you might just come across my 'name' ;-) ! )
Also take a look at Meier, Libeskind and more or less any famous gang from that era.
