Residential design notes??

chemitas

I am a residential drafter/designer who does mostly single family residential design, no need for a licensed architect. I am looking for some kind of simple note on my plans somehow stating that copying a set of plans without the designers consent is prohibited blah blah blah (you get what I am saying). Anyone have a simple note along these lines they could supply??
thanx!!

"The ideas, designs and other documents in this set of construction documents are the intellectual property of the designer. Copying this set of plans, details and specifications without the designers consent is prohibited by some kind of law of the street and it will cost you a lot of grief. You will be sorry you did. I am watching you and other potential assholes. You have been warned!"

"Copying this note without my consent is prohibited."

In your post you mention no need for a licensed architect, yet you are asking a question to a group of people who are either licensed architects, pursuing a license or work for a licensed architect?

I thought this was somewhere I could go and get honest answers. All I got was a bunch of idiots trying to be smart asses. Tagalong, I meant that for single family residential design your do not need to be a licensed architect. Does not mean I wouldnt take advice from an architect, but maybe not from a jackass like you. Please dont think you are better than others because you are a, "wow", LICENSED ARCHITECT! Take your measly 35k and degree and shove it up your ass!!!! Winston help me out here!!!!

LOL, your reply funny...and Holy shit that copyright thing is annoying.

Anyway I am in a similar boat as you chemitas. You know you can probably write your own note if you can understand this:

I agree with tagalong. it is ironic that someone who seems so dismissive of the professional value of architects would be asking for our assistance.

Firstly, just cuz you do residential work only, does not mean you do not need to be licensed. Many places, cities, counties and states require a licensed design professional to submit for SFR's. The village I work for does require a licensed DP so you would be ass out my friend.

Secondly, I don't know that a note on the plans will cover you from this. Maybe, but I don't think you are protected. So write up any note you want on the plans but I would bet that really what you need is verbage in your contract.

Oh yeah,

Thirdly, you do this kind of work for a living and can't write up a simple note?

Come on man.
