The directions from Autodesk for unzipping the files to a certain directory apply to either Windows XP or Windows Vista, with no mention of Windows 7, my new operating system.
My systyem administrator suggested contacting Autodesk - what a labrynth that site is.... Was waiting to see if one of my fellow 'Necters could answer this.

Can anyone provide advice/links for installing Revit tutorials on Windows 7?
don't the tutorials get installed automatically when you install Revit?
