I've only been using it for a week, and now look. I already know (sort of) some of the regulars. This thing is pretty awesome. Architecture students (and post-students) are so cool.
Of course I'm addicted - but the last two weeks I've been so busy at work that I've been moe of a "recreational user" than a " hardcore dealer", which (with my ridiculous post count) I usually am.
Welcome skibum. There is no group of people I'd rather talk/spend time with than other architects.

haha wow thats great. actually i don't drink. or smoke crack lol. its nice to be in such a supportive group. dang it i need to keep working on my research paper on chandigarh...
whats amazing to me is if you go to other more mainstream online forums a 10k post count isn't rare at all.
Maybe...just maybe... it's because more people on Archinect compose thoughtful posts rather than quick meaningless responses and jibber jabber. (which I appreciate immensely)
we should build an online archinect house.. everyone could design their own room and add it.. o.m.g. haha we could even crit each other on it hahaha. then it could really be like home! ;P this computer freaks me out how it replaces our physical lives.
"Maybe...just maybe... it's because more people on Archinect compose thoughtful posts rather than quick meaningless responses and jibber jabber. (which I appreciate immensely)"---speak for yourself.
Sometimes I like Archinect so much I don't want to foul it up with a lame remark.
I think my finger-muscle-memory typing "a-r-c-h-i-n" to bring this site up in the drop-down in the URL line (the "n" refining the field of possibilities, getting past the -dose and -technophilia and -space etc.) is sometimes a stronger reflex than typing in my own password.
i think my low post count doesn't do justice to the numerous times i've completely lost it on this forum, and gone off on some chapter long, pointless rant on some deeply personal topic... and then i wake up the next morning, check archinect again and realize that i've totally killed the thread with my retarded essay of a post...
ya that's basically like an archinect hangover... and then i go back to work all sombre the next day and pick up some redlines...
i heart archinect so much I once went two weeks making sure my posts were all 101 words. This isn't so amazing because i only made 1 post in that time. Oh if only I were doing that now...
I think I'm addicted to archinect.

Have you been drinking?
One day you admit you're addicted to it, and the next thing you know, you've got 5000 posts.
Welcome. :o)
crackhead
welcome to the club
welcome
He caught in the net
Stuck in the web
Its the flicker rate of the bloody computer screen, its hypnotic. Fact.

Welcome skibum. There is no group of people I'd rather talk/spend time with than other architects.
i'm only an aspiring architect and i'm addicted :)
things got so bad...he was slammin "20 or 30 "go to bottoms " per hour..
Welcome Skibum. Yes, I indeed am an addict too. I think we all are.

you are only an addict if you go to the meetings...
there is something when someone quotes your blog...sigh [blush]swollen head [/blush]
But yeah I'm addicted. I was once a calm viewer, part-time poster. Then i had a little time and whammo - I'm in the top 10 posters
i can quit any time i want.
haha wow thats great. actually i don't drink. or smoke crack lol. its nice to be in such a supportive group. dang it i need to keep working on my research paper on chandigarh...

There's less bs here than other places, but make no mistake, it flows at times.
Also, try asking some good ol' favs, like "how much do architects make" or "which school should I go to". You'll be popular in no time ;-)
There is no where like archinect! Makes me feel comfy and at home here.
Is that sad?
not sad at all. welcome home, trace.
your rent is late.
my bills are overdue. But it does feel like home - spartan, minimal, no mess like I only wish my physical home could be
good thing is there is no eviction either too
we should build an online archinect house.. everyone could design their own room and add it.. o.m.g. haha we could even crit each other on it hahaha. then it could really be like home! ;P this computer freaks me out how it replaces our physical lives.
I like skibum.

Lord bossman <sigh> I miss him.

where is lord bossman, anyway?
ah oh my apologies to le bossman, my rent shall be coming henceforth.
that was an awesome thread.. "<sigh>"-- where did he go?
i'm in like with archinect.

Sorry, my daughter called me away from my precious Archinect.
Lowsy kids; I forgot what I was saying...
Oh yeah. I love this place. I don't rack up tons of posts, but if there were another stat for browsing, I'd be a 'regular' too!
Archinect has a special place in my heart.
how did a rookie get such a good following?
ya okay i'm addicted...
i think my low post count doesn't do justice to the numerous times i've completely lost it on this forum, and gone off on some chapter long, pointless rant on some deeply personal topic... and then i wake up the next morning, check archinect again and realize that i've totally killed the thread with my retarded essay of a post...

I guess maybe I'm just lucky :)
and I think its the architecture genes don't hurt.
I want a pair of architecture jeans...
i heart archinect so much I once went two weeks making sure my posts were all 101 words. This isn't so amazing because i only made 1 post in that time. Oh if only I were doing that now...
i still don;t know how to make lavender colored letters?
...I, ...know nothing.
, your post made me smile. Those deeply personal topics are what makes archinect so fun!
Oops, I screwed up my plural/singular case there - sorry.
it's le bossman, not la bossman. or, if you prefer, his majesty, lord bossman
He has returned!
everytime i say bossman, reminds me of my father - its what he used to call me when i did something wrong
le bossman, so nice of you to drop in on this post. I've only read about you in the annals of archinect
