hello every one,is this a good idea to do a mtech in planning ??,i want to do march 1 from a reputed school, will this help me and to what extent ??i m also thinking of masters in structural engineering..any sugestions???i m not in a hurry to aplly for any school and wil think after 2-3 years .my undergrad degree is in civil engineering with 3.72 gpa..
The main thing u need to think about is why u want to transfer to these fields. Compare to other majors, civil(especially structure) has some advantages to enroll in MArch. But u need to prepare a good portfolio. Though ur GPA is high now, it doesn't make much sense for applying architecture school. Portfolio is the main thing.
What's more, if u want to go to top 15 grad school, civil engineering major may be easier to get into.shorter and cheaper to get the degree.
hey tinson49 thanks for u r advice,my main intention is to get in to first professional degree in architecture as i m more intrested to learn architecture ,and to get in to this programme , i m thinking of masters in planning or structural engineering .i think along with a nice portfolio i must also have some edge over other applicants,as a international student (from india) as many other must be applying for the same,
