How to upload portfolio for grad school applications?

Noypi

For online applications, how are you guys uploading your portfolios? Right now, I'm just printing them into pdfs from InDesign. However, this just creates continuous singles pages. How do I create a cover page followed by spreads (like in issuu)?

apparently, they have programs that allow portfolios to be viewed like spreads. at least yale does it that way

in indesign, go to document presets under file, and it should have a setting to allow you to view the document as spreads. then export that into pdf and it should be in spreads.

another thing to note (for myself as well) is to try to have everything in the indesign including linked files in either RGB or CMYK. if you have both in one file the blacks and transparencies starts to get inconsistant.

Do you know how portfolios on Yale upload site should look after they are "post-processed"? The upload instructions mentions being able to reorder and drag thumbnails, but I waited overnight for the post-processing to finish and there's still only one thumbnail showing...

If a small graphic thumbnail appears, then you're good. But to be certain of how it should appear, I would call them to be sure

Great, I do have the small thumbnail. I'll try sending them an email since it's the holidays? Thank you!

thanks for the heads up Kamueku Luke Kakizaki. Which one should I go with? RGB or CMYK? Can I make these changes in Indesign or do I have to go to each individual file?

for digital portfolios RBG. chose like sRGB when exporting. if you see individual images inconsistant check the linked file. CMYK is for printed portfolios (sad not may school are asking for these nowadays)
