Going the other direction from Rhino to Revit, I've had luck exporting as dwg for simple shapes and sat file for complex objects or those with curves (did this with a complicated handrail and it came in fine). In Revit, sat files are static object, you can't edit it them at all, except the material properties.

Have you guys had any experience of exporting and importing 3D models between Revit and Rhino? What are the best ways to do it? thanks alot....
Yeah Export as CAD dwg....then open with rhino....
Revit breaks down all the layers for you....easy and ready to work on rhino....
