I am using architectural desktop 2006. I'm wondering if it's possible to 'merge' tabs from 2 seperate autocad files.
For example, I have a file with site plan enlargements and another file with the overall site plan. (same xref). Can I "copy/paste" the tabs from one file into the other?
Right-click on any tab in the drawing, and select "From Template..."
A file dialog box will appear. Make sure it's set to look for *.DWG files, and select the drawing you want to import a layout tab from. Hit OK.
Another box will appear, with a list of all the names of the layout tabs in that drawing. Select the tab you're after, and it will import it into your active drawing.
Once the tab has been imported, you may have to turn on the viewport windows, as they sometimes get turned off by default when importing.
