Facade Competition

Hello,

A few open questions about the Santa Fe Facade Competitoin -

Did anyone else apply for this? They said finalists would be announced on April 23rd - has anyone received information as to whether this happened ? - No news on their web site. Anyone else a bit mystified by the fact that proposals were due on a Friday, finalists "announced" by this Monday, and the winner chosen 2 days afterwards, and the fact the jury was not named ?

Thanks, folks.

The website says that finalists will be notified on April 23rd, as opposed to announced.

The selection process does seem to be unusually quick.

well that doesn't really answer the question on who won this thing! I wish they would have at least indicated the narrowed liste, and then hold you at least in suspense for the winner!

Hello,

No news other than an update on their web site that pre-dates 4/25. Not too keen on the timeliness of this competition not communicating the winner / chosen design on the web site.

Do you have a link?

It seems like it says the winners have been announced but doesn't say who won it or who the finalists are on the site. Or am I looking in the wrong place?

nice entry Alex, simple yet nice touch. I do wonder after seeing some of the selected entries, whether or not the winning one will be built as shown. It seems quite nicely designed, but with the budget they proposed, Im not sure if it can conver the costs.

Just curious what the thoughts are.

...didn't know how to deal with HVAC area and storage container, annoyed that it was included in programme; also rushed for time. So I kind of blew those areas off - in retrospect, wouldn't have.

Great to see these other entries -- it's all very nice work. I also wonder about the budget, but these things always seem to pull together one way or another.

I wonder if, as a non-profit, there cost might be a little less, in terms of taxes, materials..........etc.

They also might have local builders who are willing to do work on the cheap as a contribution to the community.

I agree Alex, all the work is really nice!

these are really exciting. I have never entered a professional competition before (one that isn't through school/ student orgs, etc.) and i think it seems to be a great way to stress/ practice design/ theoretical work (in comparison to my somewhat repetitive CAD monkey duties).

Great work guys- very inspiring!
