I'm sure someone here can help me.... I don't use Microsoft Word much. I'm typing something, and if I highlight text and try to replace it, the original text remains and the new text is shoved in front of it. When I click into the middle of a paragraph and try to add a word or a sentence, it overwrites the words which are already there.
WTF is going on, and how do I stop it?!!? I couldn't find it in the 'AutoCorrect' dialog, and the help file isn't being much use either.
word help!

Try pressing the "insert" button, aka turning insert off...
ok, I just found 'Overtype' and turned it off, but anybody have answers for the 'backspace' key not working and replacing text not working?
Sorry, I don't know that one offhand.
ah well. At least I can get by without re-writing my whole essay every time I want to insert a word now!
hmmm, check your "scroll lock" key. I think I've had the dame problem awhile back and that was the fick.
fix, not fick.
