lol nope it's a real 3.06, freshman year was rough, and sophemore year not much better... but I took 2 years off and came back swinging!
Even if i don't get in I won't feel like a dick, I see it as more time to save $ and do the things that I love but will have to give up once I start pledging the profession of arch school (studio 24/7 etc...) so if nothing works out, its OK i'll get in somewhere next year.
no its not. its my own damn fault for applying to those f'n schools. next year bring on the columbias/uclas/rices/etc. they're fine schools, im excited
ff33, any reason you didnt reapply to the same schools again this year? I was under the impression it'd be real easy to do so, and was sort of looking forward to paying another $400 for 4 rejections next year
I like how this experience challenges our understanding of what we THINK we are capable of, becasue the rationale of admission's committees is futile to predict, ...but we spend months trying to ,...
asbuck...I had a very tough time with my (re) applications because I was sort of broke...and also, I did apply to Columbia again,, but this dumb thing happened and I screwed up my application.
Ivies were passe for me this second time....also, I don;t like Argile
Did anyone else who got accepted to Columbia not get an email telling them to check the status? I did so sort of blindly (checked my app status), and was pleasantly surprised to be admitted, but how are we supposed to know if they don't email us?
Also, are we anticipating something in the mail?
And who is going to the open house on April 9?
sort of. I have a BA in philosophy. I was an M.Arch at Cornell for a year, got sick & took a leave, landed a sweet job in Chicago (as a jr. architect), moshen left cornell so I dropped out, and now it looks like I'll probably be at yale this fall. I kind of took the circuitous route...
2008 M.Arch applicants, commiserate here!
smith u are a pro at this ;)
perhaps my poor typing is the reason i am having trouble ;-)
yeah cou, I dont like to toot my own horn...but I have no idea where i went wrong. quite bitter after all of this
ivy league is stupid. kidding! but they cost a lot.
Conormac - i'm really quite alarmed by all of this. and i'm certain there was some mistake somewhere or some other smith they're mixing up. oh well.
does cornell have a new arch building? is that really happening? anyone know?
it's so cold there.
...and asbuck,
seriously,....you and I know you have a great portfolio....so don't sweat this .....
<plus, it ain't really over yet>

dude, the BAC is all you really need.
uh, I hate to burst your bubble, but those schools are hard as hell and a bit of a crap shoot, as well
buck, no sense in beating yourself up over this

ff33, I know they are. but they're not QUITE as hard to get into. who knows, the year after that maybe i'll be applying to BAC
IT IS ONLY MARCH 14TH!!!!
right, but if you havent heard from yale or gsd yet its safe to assume you're out. I'd like to be proven wrong though :)
realistic vs. optimistic

yeah its kind of like trying to please the gods by sacrificing a goat...or returning their coke bottle (anyone anyone?)

wait, but you're talking about MS degree. not M.Arch, right?
