I recently finished my undergraduate degree in architectural science and while I take my hiatus from the academic realm for a few years, I decided to redirect my year-old blog and turn it as a go to source for recommendations and tips for the architecture student.
I'm really enjoying blogging as a hobby. Though there are a bunch of travelling entries and some foodie explorations in the past...any feedback on how to improve the blog will be grateful! (should be working more on my portfolio right now).
P.S. in 2009 I joined Archinect and I was a student that was struggling in architecture school and posted in the forums for help. Wanna thank those people in the post that responded and gave their advice kindly: Mystykaljello, Steven Ward, liberty bell, mantaray.
Here's the follow up: It was rough, I dropped courses, I failed studio, I fell really behind...however I needed those negative situations to reflect, redirect my focus and pull through. I went through counselling, got heavily involved in the AIAS chapter at my school...and became the Underdog Architecture Student that helped students, sympathized with other students that struggle...and this blog serves to document that and now extend that help. Even though I'm in a post-grad phase of need to get my portfolio down and start applying to firms, I find that I have a passion in blogging and hope that can complement my career greatly.
