Architecture Transfer Advice Needed!!

loladro

Hi I am now a rising sophomore at Parsons the New School for design. I just finishes my foundation year and am going into my major in the fall. I really like architecture but the program at Parsons sucks, really.

I want to transfer and the only school that I want is Cornell. I really need some advice here. I am transfer in Spring, which I think is a rare case...I just want to know what I can do to add some odds.

I am not too worry about my scores cuz I have a GPA 3.7, SATI math 800, reading 700, writing 740, SATII math 800 chemistry 800 physics 800 etc.....but I suck at presenting myself in the application and I know that portfolio is more important than scores.

Any advise on Personal Statement, should I be emotional or critical? and I don't have amazing extracurricular activities...the only one is a fashion internship during the summer...Is it ok to write about that ? and I went to cornell architecture summer course before, I don't want to start as a freshman!!!!! what are the odds? and any thoughts about the portfolio ...what should I be taking care of ? Any statistic of the admission?  I am really nervous and I am a mess right now cuz I only have one shot.

Just throw me ANY ideas you have, any will be helpful!! thanks!!

I think they will make you start as first year, at least in design. Which means you start arch. design in fall 2013

You might be able to get some courses out of the way during spring, if they accept you. Your foundation courses at Parsons could transfer as electives.

Show your work from the summer program and look up portfolios that got into Cornell B.Arch.

If you drop out of parsons now, take some computer classes.
