this design (the PILE UP module) is a registred patent in the EU, USA and CH since 2003. for me seams kind of stange, specially because the layout is not SO special. there are some projects around with quite similar apt-layouts - I really dont believe that the planners even know that there exists a patent for architecture-design like this.
