I think this is the latest, the Whitney plans an expansion down there.

But for pictures, this is probably more than you wanted:

Oh, and speaking of D + S and R, there is a piece on their new building for the ICA in Boston in Time magazine. Now that is weird. Is it more or less weird than the full page ads for the English language Aljazeera? Neither of those are things I expect in Time magazine.

It's definitely trucking right along. I heard SHoP might be doing the upper segment. I get pretty regular emails from the Friends Of the Highline with status updates. I think they're debating what to do on the portions above 3oth St now. Latest I heard, Dia was out, but now the Whitney is in, doing some sort of expansion near Gaansevoort, Meatpacking area.

Last I heard, it'll be invaded by Manolo Blahnik Heels and Hair Gel before too long...

Yeah, I have also heard the Whitney has taken the space, and they gave the design work to Renzo Piano. Too bad, it's a very unique space and it deserves a wild building, not a Renzo Piano middling job. I was very unimpressed by what he did at the Morgan Library.
