i have a form z model that i want to use in rhino. does anyone know what is the best way to convert that file? it's a model of a city center and has lots of layers...
i've tried export to dwg and 3ds but it doesn't open
try exporting your file as an IGES, STL, DWG or 3DS. most files are interchangeable with the 3DS format. i use these extensions for jumping a file around between different software and rarely hit any major snags...good luck

"i have a form z model"
therein lies your problem
It's been a while, but I believe when exporting to 3DS you have to change the object type. Or maybe just export as OBJ.
I dunno.
