"something" was corrupted on mine straight out of the box. i suspect it was windows, but i'll never know. used the recovery disks on the first day it was booted up. then the screen started pixellating. i took it back and swapped it out for a brand new one. the second one has been perfect for the past week, but the problems with the first one really irked me.
the keyboard chassis was warped above the esc key and then encountered the mysterious floating phantom pixel that i now understand is a result of using firefox.
returned the original over three weeks ago and have not yet received the replacement. arrgh!

mine is working flawlessly... not even a single bad pixel on the screen (a first for me)

i use firefox and experience no phantom pixel. perhaps your latop was haunted?
has anyone tried the Z61p yet?
