B.Arch.: Pratt v/s Parsons v/s SCIArch v/s Syracuse

as.1

Heyy From what I've read in may threads, there are soo many good schools to choose from for an Architectural degree. However, Ive gotten accepted from the following schools and I'm finding it really hard to make a decision. I prefer a more urban setting rather than a country one.

-> Parsons ( BFA )

-> Syracuse ( scholarship of $10,000 each year)

->Georgia Tech

-> SCI-Arch

->Pratt ( Waitlisted -- i hope i get in ! )

Well from the money point of view, it seems that Syracuse seems like a good pick, however, my dad being an architect has asked round some american architects and they seem to not know syracuse very well. I want to get into Pratt, but i also want to get some advice from everyone about each school and which one will give me a more or less well rounded education.  Also, i wanted to know whether getting BFA from Parsons is also a good idea? will it be easy to get into highly ranked MArch schools with a BFA? And what about Job opportunities??

I NEED HELP!!

hey, i'm not an architect, just an applicant for BArch like yourself too, but i've been given advice that your portfolio will ultimately matter in the end. i work an internship now and i posed the question of an applicant from a good school with a not-so-great portfolio but an applicant from a lesser known school with a better portfolio. the person with the better portfolio will get in first.

if you're in america, i believe that architecture remains one of the jobs with a high unemployment rate currently, but that's bound to change in a few years, i hope. not sure about the BFA from parsons but there are some architects here on this forum who graduated from art schools and took an MArch later on and believe it's was a good start for them.
