Rhino Help.

Is there a way in rhino or perhaps some other design software to flatten a surface, impose lines on to it or cut it and then rewrap the surface?

1. UnrollSrf
2. draw curves on unrolled surface (including a border curve (DupBorder)),
3. ApplyCrv (select all curves then pick original surface)

-adjustments may be needed to U/V orientations using the Dir command on the original surface

you can project lines onto your original surface (PROJECT) and trim out a new border using the projected lines. when you say rewrap, do you mean, remake the same shape with a new edge?

NicoM - Seems to be pointing me in the correct direction.
I have a conical shape that I need to flatten.
I am going to impose lines on to it and cut a hole.
Then i need to remake the shape with the new info on the surface.

I understod Maya had a 'rebuild' type of operation but i am not familiar with that software.

Thanks
