isn't that technically illegal? does your office have a set in place policy against this? did the PM get fired? i'd perhaps look into a lawyer... or at least an arbitrator.
is pm still there? if it is, you need a lawyer quick and you don't have to work long time or get a "free" law school edu.
f'd n fired = $$$ (its called f&f in law)
that really sucks...
atomic,
i know you're probably busy right now (i'd be planning a "vandalize every project they've done in the past five years" spree) but please tell us, was the pm fired too?
an interior designer (29F) at our office started an at-work "relationship" with one of our married principals (48M); his wife caught'em; he got divorced, and now lives with the interior designer; through the divorce, he sold his VWPassat Wagon, and bought an Acura sports car; the interior designer was paid a large sum of money to be dismissed quietly;
if any of atomic's situation is real, she should sue;
shit, bryan, i think you may be on to something (said in the tone of someone who gets something way too late) what i'd really like to know is, who is atomic. do you think "atomic" was inspired by the blondie song, the ski company, or a fascination with the prospect of a future when we will have a limitless supply of cheap, clean energy.
hmmm. i vote for the "this is BS" ticket. the only way someone could get fired for sleeping with their project manager was if the project manager was married to the principal (or his lover).
one of my old project managers at my last job was the bosses wife. that could have been interesting if i wasn't married
i can't call bs on this cause i've heard of way more far out shit.
at a big firm in "big d" there was a situation where a former graduate from my university slept with one of her married higher ups. she quickly made her way through the ranks even through a lack of experience, i wonder how that happened. well, the guys wife comes in the office and raises hell, maybe even started a fight with her in the office. so what happens? she gets transfered to the London office... oh the punishment, oh the agony. just something a little birdie told me though, i wasn't there.
i heard about an instance where an intern was sleeping with a partner. but the intern wanted to break it off. so the partner called the intern's house and left a message. the intern lived with mom. mom called the number back and it happened to be the partner's home phone. the partner's wife answered.
i heard that the wife quietly asked the partner to leave and the firm quietly asked the intern to leave. but it could be hearsay. didn't see the intern around much after that, though. wonder what happened to him.
way to go on professionalism. arent you just asking for it if you do something like f'ing another person in the workplace? i mean c'mon. i have NO sympathy for this type of shit. when it comes to this sort of thing, everyone knows what they're are getting into before they get into it. don't cry about it when the consequences arent as favorable as you'd like. AND all that advice you got after putting that thread on flirting w/ the person...my god. you had to have lacked alot of common sense.
if i were you atomic, i'd wise up. and if the pm didnt receive the same punishment, i'd sue (if you can prove that it was discriminatory in that they fired you and not him...AND that this was the ONLY reason they fired you, not bc you were a bad employee.)
on last thing, you might want to reconsider going into law...seeing as how you cant seem to stick to inherent work policies.
nothing better than asking one of your clients if he can introduce you to the hot 22 yr old that he i stalking too...especially when it is his daughter
fake or not...it still raises interesting questions...
at what point has "harmless" flirting taken a turn into harrassment?
what kind of an awkward position is it to be at work every day and endure the unwelcomed glances, the lame comments and pathetic attempts without being able to tell the bloke to piss off just because he has more seniority than you?
I got fired for sleeping with my project manager
This sucks, f*ck architecture. The pay is too low to be so pretentious all the time anyway. I'm taking the LSAT this fall and applying to law school.
how'd they find out? worth it?
isn't that technically illegal? does your office have a set in place policy against this? did the PM get fired? i'd perhaps look into a lawyer... or at least an arbitrator.
holy cow. i really thought you were kidding. you're right about the pay, though.
was cocaine involved?
usually the person in the senior position gets in trouble...
you'll make a lot of money in law but it has the possibility of killing your soul - tread carefully.
oh, and that law degree might come in handle if you want to sue your former employer re: your termination since it sounds questionable.
Was it worth it? I've had jobs where I'd rather get laid and fired than keep working there. I dunno, maybe its just me...

thats assuming architects have soul?
You made One Big Mistake....should have slept with the Owner of the Firm. Then you could own a piece of the pie!
is pm still there? if it is, you need a lawyer quick and you don't have to work long time or get a "free" law school edu.
f'd n fired = $$$ (its called f&f in law)
that really sucks...
i'm sorry to hear the tragic end after all the advices you received here.
My project manager is constantly flirting with me.
i slept with my yoga instructor
i slept with the pm....
hahha its the same GIRL. Guess the Cornell tortoise shell glasses did a little bit of spying huh...
Oh wow....this was actually encouraged........bummer.

Chick at my office is now married to the owner. Now she comes in for 2 days a week and just creates more work for everyone!
I'm w/ beta on this...
I'm calling bs.
Thanks for playing.
this is terrible... (is it for real?)
atomic,
i know you're probably busy right now (i'd be planning a "vandalize every project they've done in the past five years" spree) but please tell us, was the pm fired too?
thats funny, i had to sleep with my project manager to keep my job. i still have nightmares...eeewwww
You gonna continue to hit it? Shit, if you got fired take it out on them in bed.
she was the one being hit, i believe.

i can't believe anyone's falling for this...total BS. I have my suspicions about whether atomic is really even female...

so did you bill your time to office overhead or marketing?
yes, Atomic please come back and tell us more! This is way better than the should I go to Harvard sissy bull shit threads.
3/27/06: "My project manager is constantly flirting with me, should i go for it" --- 4/4/06: "I got fired for sleeping with my project manager"
wow, the last 9 days have been quite eventful for you, haven't they?
& i agree SuperBeatledud, archinect all of a sudden got interesting again...
hahahhahahaha
(s)he who lies down with dogs, wakes up with fleas
architecture is architecture despite your poor choices!
