sorry for that, I's editing it. The worst thing about issuu is that you can't update your document and then use the same link. My portfolio is not ready yet. Almost. But, not quite yet.:) Here is the new link
i really like your work. but i feel like you should really concentrate on letting the work show itself and stop adding things to the portfolio itself.
As far as the portfolio.... my personal opinion is that it starts off with a very very bad cover. There is way too much going on and its really hard to believe that I will find anything interesting inside. Im not sure if I understand why your cover is as it is... you have some fantastic graphics inside! use the style of graphics you have for your work as the cover so that it all goes together. Seriously, your work is sooo much better than the cover you are giving yourself.
I think you should show more of the Summer House. You have 2 pages of a very interesting built project, and 2 pages of knitting. Um....? The knitting is a good display of various forms of creativity, but that house needs to stand out more. Its very interesting. Have more images and drawings? Also... what was your role on this? Did you design it completely and build it? Wait, is this real? Its hard to tell. Your big image could easily be material rendering. the only image where I can actually tell what this house looks like is far too small. Bring this up! If it is a rendering you need to state it so. My first thought was that is a built house. Just my thoughts.
hmm.. the summer house project is not realized, I designed it but renderings are not mine, guess I should write about it. I'll edit it, bring the main image up, add elevations and change the font on the 1st page as well. I guess I don't truly understand what makes a cover good or bad, so far I was thinking mine is good. :(
I agree with those comments... I suggest minimizing the graphics in your layout (especially title page), and pushing your best work to the front of your portfolio. I really love those watercolor renderings in the back...
i can imagine a man on the admissions committee reacting adversely to your knitting work... I'd take it out! you have plenty of other material.
Personally my portfolio cover simply has my name on it and a small sketch perspective drawing of a project that is later inside. But I have seen lots of various types of covers that take different approaches and I also like.
Like I said previously, I really like the graphics of your work. I would just stare at a few of those images, drawings, renderings and then try to imagine what you would put as a precursor to those images. Because that is exactly what your cover page should be. right now... yours seems to be of its own. It needs to look like it belongs to the work.
